When artists release a standard tour DVD, it commonly means that you are about to see the regular live images that we all have to come to know. Tiësto however now releases a DVD that shows exactly what went on behind the scenes of the Asian part of his Elements of Life World Tour 2007 – 2008; thus bringing his fans a rare, but ever so entertaining look at what it really means to be a superstar DJ.
During his extensive Elements of Life World Tour 2007 – 2008, Tiësto literally played all four corners of the globe. The final part took him to Asia, where he hosted a string of shows in Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, The Philippines, Thailand, China, Indonesia and Korea.
Throughout the tour Tiësto and his crew were not only followed by a camera team, but they shot their own videos as well. The end result is an exclusive backstage pass to the artist’s life on tour. The DVD features entertaining images of Tiësto’s live performances in front of thousands of ecstatic fans, back stage footage, behind the scenes clips, meetings with the press, interviews and of course a close up peek into what everyday life looks like ‘on the road’.
Fans will also be happy to see Tiësto at work during the recording sessions for his hailed In Search of Sunrise 7 Asia mix compilation in Kui Buri, Thailand. The film, often with Tiësto himself featuring as the voice over, is guided by an artist experiencing the energy and inspiration of Asian culture, giving the entire DVD a very intimate and personal character which makes it all the more enjoyable to watch.
To quote the man himself after finishing the mixing sessions at Kui Buri: “When I played the last record, the whole Elements of Life Tour went through my head again, and for me it’s definitely been a tour I will never forget.” And considering the quality of the footage offered, the viewers will not either.
