Skylark - I-Panik Remixed.
Achtung – I-Panik! Die beiden Englischen Künstlern Nic Fanciulli und Andy Chatterley gaben anfangs Jahr unter ihr Projekt SKYLARK ihr erstes Album „I-Panik“ heraus. Diese was jedoch lediglich in digitaler Form über Beatport erhältlich. Seitdem haben sich weitere Künstler wie Funk D’Void, Manuel Tur oder Joris Voorn daran beteiligt und einigen Tracks wie Saved oder Movin neu gemischt. Die Reichhaltigkeit und Abwechslung der Titeln – vor allem durch die leichte melodische Töne, die kombiniert mit dem tiefen Elektrostill das Album der richtigen Kick gibt – konnte uns positiv überraschen und überzeugen.
"i-Panik", the debut album from Skylark, AKA International DJ Nic Fanciulli and Andy Chatterley, has been bubbling under for the last few months as a digital only release on Beatport on Saved Records. Now, with a slew of top remixes carved out to contribute to the album, NRK Music, in conjunction with Saved, are proud to announce the full release of "i-Panik" along with a companion remix disc.
Skylark have built up a more than solid musical repertoire over the years, mostly as remixers, with artists such as Tiefschwarz, Deep Dish, Paul Woolford, Rulers Of The Deep, Kylie Minogue and Steve Lawler receiving the Skylark treatment to full effect. "i-Panik" sees Skylark lay down their own original production roots, and have crafted out an excellent 11 track album, exploring dancefloor and home listening excursions in deep techno, ambient and housier cuts. The pair have been working together for almost 10 years and their credentials are impressive. Last year they were nominated for a Grammy (yes that’s right – A GRAMMY!) under their Buick Project moniker, for their remix of Tiefschwarz’s ‘Damage’ collaboration with Tracy Thorn and together have released over 20 remixes and original productions.
"i-Panik" will be released at the end of May, and will be accompanied by a bonus remix disc. Fanciulli & Chatterley drew up a wish list of remixers to tackle tracks from the album, and each remixer in turn delivered outstanding versions. The roll call includes Funk D'Void, Manuel Tur, Joris Voorn, UNKLE, Davide Squillace and Joe Mull, and the remix disc provides some amazing re-interpretations of Skylark's originals.
Some rather special vinyl 12"s will also be released around May time, and both Nic and Andy will embark on major DJ promotional tours to spread the word on "i-Panik". More details as we get ‘em.
NRK Music - Established UK House label has been running for 13 years and has been responsible for projects by Joey Negro / Francois Kevorkian / Dimitri From Paris / Derrick Carter / Louie Vega (masters at work) / Switch / Peace Division and more. Not content with just releasing 12" singles, NRK has released Artist albums, Mix CD compilations and to this day are one of the few labels that release anything from Deep Garage to Minimal Techno and every other house music "genre" in between. NRK have previously worked with Skylark on a couple of remix projects that were huge on the underground…Therefore It was a very natural progression for NRK music to collaborate with Saved Records on this debut release of this Skylark album…

Nic has had a record breaking year in 2007 with his One+One alliance with James Zabiela.
“I’ve had the best 12 months of my life with music. The tour with James was inspirational and fun. This just puts together all the pieces as Andy and I have been working together for so long.”
Andy adds “Having done this artist album, I want to record more artist albums now, it’s amazing. It’s challenging and you get to put much more creativity into it and it’s a longer and more sustained intense creative period.”
The pair are committed to Skylark but still maintain time for their other ventures;
A shy talent in his early days, Nic has developed into a modest global superstar. Production wise he is something of a mastermind. From Essential new tune ‘That’s More Like It’ (as Skylark) three years ago to the more recent sublime acid houser’s ‘Lucky Heather / Cat Out of the Bag’, he has a catalogue of productions under his belt already.
Nic has also remixed for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Timo Maas, Tiefschwarz and Underworld amongst others. His critically acclaimed albums for Renaissance and Ministry of Sound show he’s at home in the studio, with new material coming all the time.
Andy has an Internet Music TV company - www.Liveroom.tv, Producer for other artists such as The Pussy Cat Dolls, Siobhan Fahey and is a song writer for Universal Music Publishing.
Andy also remixes and produces as The Droyds and Edison remixing the likes of Blondie, Muse, Justice V Simian (Essential New Tune 2006), Nerina Pallot (Essential New Tune 2007) amongst others.
He’s also been working with Kanye West playing synths on his album ‘Graduation’ including the Daft Punk sampled ‘Stronger’.
