Miss Djax (Saskia Slegers) is the owner of Djax Records, the well-known underground dance label that is based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. She founded the label in 1989 and was responsible for the first release in The Netherlands of a Dutch rapgroup (24K), the succes of Nederhop (she signed Osdorp Posse in 1991), the rebirth and introduction of Chicago house in Europe and much more. Both in 1997 and 1998 Djax Records received the Dutch Silver Star Award for Best Record Label. Early 1999 Saskia received the Dutch music industry award "De Veer" for her effort and work in the Dutch music business.
Miss Djax is a very known international DJ. Her DJ style is hard and on-compromising. Heavy mental techno and acid are her favourite sounds. Since 1990 she has played all over the globe and in 1993 she got voted DJ of the year by German magazine Frontpage. Her name was for many years in the DJ Top 10 of Germany and even in the DJ Top 100 Chart of the UK DJ magazine. She has played the main stage at many raves and clubs all over the world including Mayday (5 times!), Love Parade, Universe, Goliath, Nature One, Dance Valley, Innercity and many more.
Since 1994 she has released six very minimal and underground Miss Djax records. In 1999 she started a cooperation with the German producer Alex Breuer which resulted in the project Djax Inc. The first release of this new project is available with the Djax 10 year anniversary book/CD. The title of this book/ CD is "1989 - 1999 Djax Records - The Power of the Underground". The beautifull book is written and compiled by Saskia herself and contains ninety full colour pages with hundreds of photos and illustrations. The text of the book is also translated in Japanese language. This as a symbol of the friendship between he Djax-Up-Beats label and the Japanese fans. The attached CD compilation contains eleven landmark Djax tracks and the track "Destination Planet Djax" by Djax Inc. For the DJ‘s Djax released a special limited DJ Edition that includes an extra 12" with four unreleased tracks by DJ Rush, Claude Young, Miss Djax and Pacou.
Miss Djax also host a weekly programme at radio Kink FM. This show is named Mission Djax and contains a wide variety of underground dance music.
