Biographie: Often recognized as a pillar of Romandie (swiss-french part of switzerland) Hardtechno Julien Kern A.K.A Gemini first played in 1992, then he was already buying House and Breakbeat LP’s.
Fascinated by music techniques and the organization of events, he created, along with Olivier Balmer a business called “wild Sono”.
It specialised in technological advice and the organization of various events. There were free parties in most of the Vaud refuges as well as open air and leisure center events.
In 1994 Gemini joined Etienne Chappuis A.K.A Oktopus.Together they creaded the famous Love pl@nec inc. Lausanne’s underground techno organization.
This organization contributed to the popularization of international DJ’s like Manu le Malin (F), Torgull (F), Fumiya Tanaka (JPN)... In Romandie.
Gemini was noticied by Eric Grosjean and Dady Fred of Couleur 3 (swiss radio). He was Regulary on air in the famous broadcast called : Métissages as well as Dégradés.
In 1996 Gemini was truly launched when he played with Prodigy and Orbital. From then on he was booked frequently. (Geneva, Zurich, Tokyo, Prague, Bratislava, Berlin, St-Tropez...)
He played with international DJ’s like for Surgeon, Paul Van Dick, La-Di-Da, Commander Tom, Manu le Malin, Torgull, Eric Borgo, Placid Angel, Terrorist, Noise...
In 1997 his desire to produce Techno music became a priority. He meet Didier Jordan from Jäd and this led to the creation of Lausanne’s first Techno Label Pyra.
After successful live shows they realised “First” there debut Lp.
Special traits :
Gemini plays Hard and Dark Techno with saturated and repetitive beats. He places people in a dark and somber atmosphere his mixing is particularly dynamic, he change records rapidly and plays with 3 decks, in order to give his music different angles....
