Amsterdam, August 2nd 2010 – Armada Music is proud to announce that Armin van Buuren has been honored with a Gold Record Award for his artist album ‘Imagine’. This is the first time the Dutch DJ and producer was awarded with an NVPI-certified Gold Record Award for sales of 25,000 units in the Netherlands. He received the award this morning from Armada Music’s Managing Director Maykel Piron.

‘Imagine’ is the third artist album from Armin van Buuren, the world’s number 1 DJ, as voted in the past three years by the public in DJ Mag’s prestigious poll. It’s a perfect combination of beats and electronica with lush chords and songwriting. Together with Dutch DJ/producer Benno de Goeij, Armin worked about two years on ‘Imagine’ and recorded it across eight locations. With over 60 million views on YouTube.com, Armin’s collab ‘In & Out Of Love’ feat. Within Temptation’s vocalist Sharon den Adel, became the biggest hit out of the album.

While trance’s universal appeal and Armin’s dedication to the genre has contributed to his huge global success (including a radio show that broadcasts on a massive 40 FM stations as well as satellite and internet radio, with over 8 million listeners a week), his albums are more than a series of identikit trance tracks based on an 8-bar loop. With his fourth longplayer ‘Mirage’, which is going to be released on September, 10th, he is going to prove that once more.
