Vollständig: Amsterdam, June 25th 2010 – Shortly after leaving Sony/ATV Music Publishing Benelux as the Managing Director, Dutchman Ruud Kooijman will launch a new company: The Right Track Music. The kick-off of the company doesn’t only offer perspective to Kooijman himself, but to artists, songwriters, DJ’s and producers looking for management and consultancy as well.
"After I left Sony/ATV I got in touch with Raymond van Vliet and Maykel Piron of Cloud9 Music and Armada Music. My decision to go for a structure offering management and consultancy turned out to be exactly what both companies were looking for. We agreed upon things quickly and this resulted in 'The Right Track Music’”, says Kooijman.
The main goal of The Right Track Music is offering management and consultancy services to artists, songwriters, DJ’s and producers. Given Kooijman's publishing experience it’s likely that similar activities will be done, although the company mainly focuses on consultancy and artists / rights management.
Because of his experience working as an A&R manager for Warner Basart, TBM/Dino, Heading EMI Publishing’s A&R department in Holland and being the Managing Director of Sony / ATV Music Publishing, Kooijman has reason to believe he can surely offer added value. Kooijman:"After all these years working for companies in music industry, it’s a big challenge to join forces with the artists and songwriters ‘on the other side of the table’ and work their careers in the broadest sense of the word."
Raymond van Vliet, owner of Cloud 9 Music:"I’ve known Ruud Kooijman since my early days at the Dutch Strengholt company in 1998 and have always enjoyed working with him. Given his long time experience and our ambition to establish a management company, Ruud will join us at the right moment." Maykel Piron, Managing Director of Armada Music, agrees:“I noticed that in the past few years more and more people started requesting management. We’ve already been working with DJ/producers like Armin van Buuren and the US based Markus Schulz. With his experience and network, Ruud is able to represent a much wider group of artists/producers and songwriters. He’s the right person for the job.”
The collaboration of ‘The Right Track’ and the two strong Dutch Indies doesn’t necessarily mean that the company will focus on artists only signed to just Armada Music and Cloud 9 Music. The first big signing, which will be announced soon, will be the example of that..
