Vollständig: Amsterdam, April 1st 2010 -Though there have been thousands of releases within the trance genre over the past years, never has there been a chart to indicate which tracks are most popular. The big question is: what is the ultimate trance track of all-time? With an official and independent Trance Top 1000 list, based on votes and therefore the personal preferences of the public, the answer will finally be revealed.
Is it ‘Paul van Dyk – For An Angel’, ‘Delerium – Silence’ or maybe ‘Communication’ by Armin van Buuren after all? Who will be the number one in this election of the ultimate trance track is completely open. At www.trancetop1000.com , a new website launched today, music lovers now have the option to leave their top 10 of favourites. They can either choose from hundreds of suggestions or add classics themselves. Voting is open till mid-June. After that, the votes will be counted and in the autumn the official Top 1000 will be published. This will be accompanied by spectacular, multi-media support, including a YouTube playlist with official music videos and a release of a compilation album with the best tracks of the Top 1000.
It’s no coincides that the official start of the Trance Top 1000 coincides with the first and extra long (Easter-) weekend of April. To celebrate the 450th episode of ‘A State of Trance’, the weekly radioshow by the number one DJ in the world, Armin van Buuren, there will be special events between the 1st and 10th of April. During these 5 events, several big DJ’s of the international trance scene will perform. Not just Armin van Buuren, but also Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Andy Moor, Cosmic Gate, Roger Shah, Aly & Fila, John O’Callaghan, Simon Patterson, Sean Tyas and Menno de Jong, will grace the decks. Besides, this Saturday brings another edition of Trance Energy in the Jaarbeurs venue in Utrecht, an event where trance classics are no exception and memories come floating back time after time. A perfect moment for clubbers to start thinking about the order of their favourites.
The Top 1000 list initiative comes from Armada Music, the Dutch label that won the International Dance Music Award for ‘Best Global Dance Label’ for the second year in a row last week.
