Cicada return with another huge anthemic single lifted from their latest long player “Roulette”. Matching their previous electro dance-rock excursions and electrifying live stage presence, “One Beat Away” and its carefully selected remixes are dance floor detonators already receiving huge support from the scene’s biggest DJ’s such as Kissy Sell Out, Axwell and Adam Shaw and Tiesto.
As a clear declaration of intent and continuing to showcase their ability to make every dance floor go off, Cicada present to us one of the album’s centerpieces, with its contagious mesh of guitars and crowd engaging hooks that hint of 80’s new wave and create the undertones for the sexy drugged out, yet delicious vocals.

Cicada provide remixes themselves and Aaron's First Floor Remix where he opts for a four-to-the-floor, mid 90’s dance floor dynamic vanished with Royksopp-esque melodies. Their Remix and Dub versions explore more proto house grooves with continental guitar licks and powerful yet melodic keyboard programming that just like original have the synths soaring to keep up with the strength of the vocal.
UK-based electro-breaks rising star Kelevra sprinkles his old-school breakbeat magic, twisting the track’s lead vocals round booty shaking beats awash with analogue bass.
“One Beat Away” is a song so immediate it has become a call and response ritual at Cicada gigs. It’s a dance floor detonator that ebulliently sums up Cicada’s intention to create music with one foot on the dance floors of Ibiza and one down in the mud at the front at a festival.
This year alone Cicada has played many impressive live performances, both in the UK and abroad. They have shared stages with acts as diverse as Deadmau5, The Beastie Boys, Digitalism, Snoop Dogg, Groove Armada and David Guetta.
