IMD unterschreibt mit Martijn ten Velden

Martijn had his first taste of success on the Dutch hip-hop scene as the DJ of hip hop collective Da Mad Scientists. In 1990 he moved to London and started playing House sets all over Europe and the Middle East. Martijn says…“I switched to house at the end of the nineties because at that time house music and house parties were just a lot more exciting. There was a lot more innovation and new sounds in House Music which tickled my ear as a producer as well.”
That year he met his production partner David James to form the formidable Audio Drive who went on to remix the like of Ms Dynamite, DB Boulevard, Agent Sumo, Eddie Grant and Tom Novy. The duo also co-produced Kylie with Grammy Award winner Rick Nowels.
Audio Drive enjoyed successful releases on stand-out labels such as Defected, Toolroom, Fantastic House / HiBias and their very own Dirty Skankin Sounds before the pair parted company.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Martijn then began working with Toolroom head honcho Mark Knight. The duo had winning releases such as 'Our House EP', 'Acid Test', 'The Hedgetrimerz' and re-mixed iconic tracks such as Soul Central 'Strings of Life' and Ferrer & Sydenham 'Sandcastles'. The duo was also nominated for “Best Artist” and “Outstanding Remix” @ the House Music Awards 2005.
Keen to keep his name in the headlines, Martijn gained massive international success with projects like “I Wish You Would” featuring Luciana Caporaso from Bodyrox fame and Splittr “All Alone” which he co-produced with Mark Yardley from Stanton Warriors. Both projects were signed to major labels such as EMI and Universal and proved to be Martijn’s biggest releases to date.
Martijn also came up with the goods in 2008 producing the Stand-out re-mix of Shapeshifters “Chime” which stayed in Beatport’s Top 5 for over 4 weeks.
This year Martijn has had released an impressive mix album on Defected records called “Clubland Adventures Vol. 7” which included a special package of edits, a slick re-mix of Farley & Heller’s Project “Ultra Flava” on Junior Boys Own and a track called “Together” on Phonetic Recording which has gained huge support from Steve Angello, Tom Novy, Mark Knight, D. Ramirez Dubfire, Sharam and Fedde Le Grand.
