In 2008 the festival also took place in Czech Republic. It was 4th time in CZ in total, but the first time at a new location – Breclav Airport, close to the border of 4 Central European countries, and with a new name - Creamfields Central Europe. Unfortunately last year the festival was stricken by unusually unfavorable weather. The programme of the main festival day was halted at 9pm by an extremely strong storm which caused a 3-hour hiatus. However, the organizers have recovered from this and continue with a project which brings international publicity to the Czech Republic and the South Moravia area.

Creamfields 2009 will be 2-day event, with the main festival day on Saturday and a capacity of 15000 people. The organizers have invited over 80 DJs and bands from the whole world and the programme will take place on 4 stages. After the bad weather experience in 2008, the organizers have decided to cover most of the stages against wind and rain, so the festival will go ahead whatever the weather conditions.

The headliners of the festival will be the leading British trance trio Above & Beyond, owners of the respected label Anjunabeats, who were recently rated number 4 in the DJMAG Top 100 DJs; the legendary German trance producer and DJ ATB, listed at 25 in DJMAG Top 100 DJs, whose melodic trance with charismatic female vocals causes goose bumps in fans all over world, and finally the British jazz-hiphop formation US3, authors of the megahit Cantaloop, who have benn selling out venues throughout Europe top the live concert programme,

The full lineup will be completed with a number of respected artists such as Felix Kroecher (Ger) – DJ of the year 2007 and 2008 in the Raveline magazine Poll, Valentino Kanzyani – one of the three most renowned Slovenian techno DJs, Popof (F) – the most original producer and most in demand remixer of recent time (remixes for Tocadisco, Tiga, Moby) and Jeff Milligan – the minimalist magician from Canada and owner of the Revolver label. Other superb artists appearing include Paolo Mojo, Jon Rundell, Sarah Main, Jason Jollins, Philipp Straub, Claudio Ricci and many more.

Leading Czech bands will be also represented in the festival programme– Chinaski, band of the year 2005 and 2007, the indie-punk The Prostitutes, the urban-pop/breakbeat act Skyline, groove/funk from Tereza Cernochova + Matej Ruppert and Showstation, the electronic project Ohmsquare, the funky Sunset Blvd and alternative rock band Animé will all be appearing. The Czech electronic music scene will be represented by Lucca and Michal Pavlíček live, Orbith, Michal Poliak and also the young talented DJ and producer Mekki Martin, who will perform with live saxophone and violin and vocalist Gianna Charles.

The music production at the festival will be complemented with a fun zone – with a variety of attractions, refreshment stands, CDs, clothes etc. and also a chillout zone. Visitors to the festival can use the car park at the airport next to the festival venue. The total capacity of the car park is 2000 cars.

It will also be possible to stay the whole weekend at the campsite just by the festival venue. The camp will be open from 2nd July until 5th July. Toilets and catering facilities will be available at the campsite.

Legendary jazz-hiphop formation US3 at Creamfields Central Europe!

The Creamfields Festival does not only mean electronic dance music, but also live music. This year‘s Creamfields in Breclav will present a strong concert programme for both days, but the highlight will be the performance of superb British formation US3. The band, who combine jazz and hiphop, had a sellout show in Prague in the middle of April and have also had great success with their brand new album “Stop.Think.Run.“.

The band was formed in 1991 when jazz musician and concert promoter Geoff Wilkinson met Mel Simpson, producer of music for TV shows and ex-pianist for John Mayall. This duo produced the track “Where Will We Be In 21st Century?“ and one year later another track “The Band That Played The Boogie“ came to the notice of the owner of Blue Note Records. He immediately gave them permission to sample any material from Blue Note Records. The duo began working hard and named the project US3 and brought another 3 members on board - Kobie Powell, Rashaan Kelly and Tukka Yoot.

Their first album “Hand On The Torch“ was released in 1993 and included the single Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia) which utilised piano parts from the Herbie Hancock track Cantaloupe Island. To date Cantaloop has been their biggest hit and the debut album Hand on the Torch has gone platinum. In 1995 Mel Simpson left the band. Nowadays the group features Geoff Wilkinson and a variety of vocalists (usually new singers for each album). Since their successful debut album they have released a further 6 albums – see the discography below.

At Creamfields Festival they will perform with an 8-member lineup..
