Layo & Bushwacka! release ‘The Big Dream’

Following the glowing reviews for the recent remixes of ‘Dancing InThe Dark’, Layo and Bushwacka! are set to release the next single from their forthcoming album ‘Rising & Falling’. ‘The Big Dream’ is set to pick up where the Audiofly and Guy Gerber & DJ Tennis remixes left off, and also features a fantastic remix from Desolat co-founder Martin Buttrich.

With ‘The Big Dream’, Layo & Bushwacka! present a musical chimera that quickly evokes a period of escapism for the listener. It’s futuristic, almost motion-picturesque arrangement, provides a blissful musical journey that demonstrates the producers’ ability to harness and crystallise emotion into something tangible. By no means ambient, this track has a rhythm that conjures up notions of discovery, whilst its anthemic organ-like synths add a grandeur that elevates this to its pulsating finale.


Accompanying the original is a sublime remix from prodigal producer Martin Buttrich. With a plethora of releases for the likes of Planet E, Cocoon, Monique Musique, and Poker Flat it is hardly surprising that Layo & Bushwacka have sought out his remix skills for this track.

With his darker sound clearly present, this is a remix that pays homage to the original, but is not afraid to take the listener on a different journey. A stomping chunky bass intertwines with rounded drum kicks. Delicate creeping synths accompany an eerie top-line that is a fantastic addition to an already strong original. All the components combine brilliantly to create a suitably otherworldly listening experience that is made for the dance-floor.

And for purchasers of the digital edition, Buttrich has turned in a special bonus remix. An altogether more deconstructed version, this is an atmospheric outing that demonstrates his versatility and dexterity as a producer. Its chilled-out sun-soaked vibe will no doubt provide the backdrop to those long post-club hours...

‘Rising & Falling’ is due for release on 22nd October, and will be Layo & Bushwacka’s first album in six years. A continuous long-player that sets out an exciting musical journey, the original version of ‘The Big Dream’ highlights the quality on offer, and provides a first insight into the music that comprises the breath-taking finished album..
