You will no doubt already be familiar with Jesse, he has been twisting the template of house music as we know it for some time now! Famed for creating the ‘fidget’ house genre with fellow producer Dave 'Switch' Taylor (one half of Major Lazer), he is now currently living and producing in LA having recently moved from Berlin, working with the likes of Chiddy Bang and touring relentlessly.
Here he presents an exciting new project called ‘Made For The Night’. It is a new compilation mix designed to allow listeners to fully understand the artist behind the album, both what they play for the night and what they produce for the night. Here he delivers the first in the series which includes his current records in his box, along with a second mix of his biggest productions, remixes and edits. The album will be released at the end of November.
Accompanying the compilation is a full length video documentary due to be released online soon. Produced by Jules Audry, it showcases the madness and vibe of his tour dates gives you a feel of the man behind Made To Play, Play it Down and Front Room.

The brainchild of Jesse Rose, ‘Made For The Night’ was conceived as a compilation series that would provide a way for the listener to fully understand an artist. Rather than merely another remix compilation, ‘Best Of’ or overpriced single CD DJ mix, its intention is to provide an insight into both sides of an artist; both behind the decks and in the studio.
Jesse Rose is one of the most versatile DJs on the planet, as comfortable playing house at L.A Sunday bash ‘The Do-Over’ alongside Gaslamp Killer and DJ Quik as he is bringing the techno beats to Cocoon alongside Sven Vath. Jesse first started out recording for Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon’s seminal Classic label before creating an entirely new scene with Switch that become the starting point for labels such as Ed Banger and Dirty Bird to flourish.
Jesse then moved to Berlin and got deep holding a residency at Panorama bar alongside Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos and Cassy. With his labels Front Room, Made to Play and now Play it Down, Jesse took house into multiple directions, helping to create careers for the likes of Sinden, Riva Starr, Oliver $, Zombie Disco Squad, Trevor Loveys, Round Table Knights and many more.
The Made For The Night series will not just look at legends or headliners but also the up and coming, and accompanying the compilation is a short documentary following each of the artists who feature, the first of which is directed by Jules Audry.
Made For The Night will also tour as a club night, with global residencies allowing Jesse to explore his passion for all facets of dance music. Mixing artists is Jesse's concept, wishing to invite friends such as Loco Dice, Radio Slave, label mates Oliver $, Riva Starr and Round Table Knights alongside house legends such as Derrick Carter, Sneak and Cajmere to forward thinking new acts such as Axel Boman, then flipping it with artists such as Flying Lotus, Four Tet and L-vis 1990.
The first Made For The Night compilation will be headed solely by Jesse, with the first disc comprising upfront and exclusive tracks that represent his unique take on the current house and techno scene, while the second disc is 100% made up of a selection of Jesse’s incredibly diverse remixes. Future releases will see Jesse joined by one of his favourite artists, giving the series both diversity and longevity.
Made For The Night is Jesse's first compilation since the highly acclaimed Body Language mix on Get Physical in 2007.

Moving to Bristol as a teenager being brought up exposed to the rise of trip-hop and drum and bass by the likes of Massive Attack (in fact Jesse's first club night at the tender age of fourteen had Daddy G from Massive Attack as his guest), Portishead, Roni Size, to trips back to London to see his father, listening to Kiss FM and being taken to shows by Giles Peterson, Cypress Hill and hanging out at the famous jazz club Ronnie Scots. By the time Jesse moved back to London at the age of 18, he had already created a good rep as a DJ, produced his first tracks, mixed a compilation for house label Subversive and was about to meet the producer that would change his life; Dave Taylor, AKA, Switch. The two started producing together and Dave pushed Jesse to step up his game and produce solo material. Jesse then became a regular, playing at the newly opened Fabric club and had his own weekly Kiss FM show. From there Jesse brought his version of house to Berlin and was greeted with open arms by press, clubs and the general public, bringing something new to a scene that, at that time, was fully focused on minimal techno..
