...the new brother and sister House labels

Bread and butter, Jack Daniels and Coke, fish and chips, many things exist best in tandem and this can be said for the newly launched House music imprints Lo:Rise and Hi:Rise.

Lo:Rise and Hi:Rise are the brand new brother and sister label that co exists by complimenting each other with their releases, both specialising in their own genre creating perfect Ying and Yang and togetherness.

The concept is simple; the Lo:Rise musical philosophy is to bring forward those trackier, deeper and more underground releases by up and coming and established artists.

Hi:Rise will concentrate on the more soulful side of house, seeking out vocals and songs and working with new artists and songwriters.

Both labels will be headed by Aaron Ross former BBC Radio 1 Xtra presenter and chief A & R at Defected Records. Aaron has both the experience and knowledge to fulfil the potential of both labels having been former A&R for Soulheaven Records and also working alongside DJ Spen on his Code Red Recordings.

“I’m over the moon to be given the chance after 5 years at defected to have my own imprints within the company’ says Aaron Ross, ‘I’m very passionate about the launch of the labels – it’s all about quality house music! Look out for timeless songs on Hi:Rise and killer standout tracks on Lo:Rise”

The first release on Lo: Rise comes from Tom Middlelton with ‘Cicadas’ (Feb 28th) an underground Latin flavoured track by a high profile artist. Remixes come from solid talents Maya Jane Coles and Marlon D.

Hi:Rise’s first release comes from the Parisian producer Simbad feat Brian Temba ‘Come Join In’ (Feb 28th) remixed by Bertrand Dupart. Both records sum up each individual style of the label, and clearly set the tone for future releases which already includes Nathan G & Giom ‘World Go Round’ on Lo:Rise and Mickey Moore ‘Too Late’ feat Angela Jonson on Hi: Rise.

First Tracks:
- Lo:Rise - Tom Middleton ‘Cicadas’ (Feb 28th)
- Hi:Rise - Simbad feat Brian Temba ‘Come Join In’ (Feb 28th).
