Amsterdam, December 17th 2010 - For the very first time in dance music history, it's made clear which track is the most popular trance track of all time. Last night on his radioshow A State of Trance, Armin van Buuren announced the official Top 3 of the Trance Top 1000, which pointed out that the Tiësto remix of 'Delerium feat. Sarah Mclachlan - Silence' is the most popular trance track of all time.
The Trance Top 1000 is based on nearly 100.000 votes on more than 10.000 tracks and remixes and is an initiative of record company Armada Music. Armin van Buuren, number one DJ in the renowned DJ Mag for 4 years in a row, has 63 tracks in the Top 1000. Dutch DJ's Tiësto and Ferry Corsten have, respectively, 41 and 24 tracks featured in the list. One of the German pioneers of trance, Paul van Dyk, is featured in the Top 1000 22 times, of which his 'For An Angel' takes in the 11th position. Dutch DJ/producer Dash Berlin, who had his first release three years ago and released his debut album last year, has his 'Waiting' ranked on 16. 'Rank 1 - Airwave' and 'Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes' respectively take in the number two and three most popular trance tracks of all time.
