Vollständig: New dance imprint to be headed up by Anton Partridge with Mark Hadfield as label manager

4th November 2010, London: Warner Music UK today announced a new imprint, One More Tune (OMT), which will sign and nurture dance talent from the UK and around the world. The imprint will focus on mainstream and genre single chart success and developing long-term artist careers through expanded rights partnerships. OMT’s mission is to build on Warner Music’s impressive dance heritage and repertoire, that includes artists such as Pete Tong, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Goldie, Utah Saints and Pendulum, while extending the company’s recent dance compilation success, including Rhino UK’s releases under the Gatecrasher and Cream banners.

OMT will be headed up by Anton Partridge, who will report to Christian Tattersfield, CEO, Warner Music UK as well as Dan Chalmers, Managing Director, Rhino UK on compilation activity. Partridge worked for nine years at MCA/Universal Music in national radio promotions and A&R, signing artists such as Livin’ Joy and E-Motion. He then formed a management and production company, Indirect Music, finding success with LUCID and Emmie, amongst others. In 2005, Partridge set up AFP Management & Publishing, which has partnered with artists such as The Shapeshifters, Gramaphonedzie and Donnie Sloan. AFP Management will continue to exist alongside Partridge’s OMT responsibilities. Until recently, he had also been consulting at Sony/ATV Publishing on electronic projects such as Empire of The Sun and Bless Beats, best known for his collaborations with Wiley.

Partridge has appointed Mark Hadfield as Label Manager, the Ivor Novello-nominated producer, DJ, re-mixer and A&R executive who has collaborated with a wide array of artists including Armand van Helden, Kylie Minogue and A Guy Called Gerald. He also works under a number of guises including MRox and The Lovefreekz.

The label’s early signings include Adrian Lux’s ‘Teenage Crime’, which hit the No.1 spot in Music Weeks Club Charts on Monday 1st November 2010, licensed from Axtone Records, the label run by Axwell of Swedish House Mafia fame, as well as Fedde Le Grand’s remix of the Everything But The Girl classic ‘Missing’, and Paul Oakenfold & Benny Benassi’s current club hit version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers classic ‘Other Side’. Rhino UK and OMT are also releasing a 3CD super club compilation, covering Pacha, Cream & Gatecrasher which is due for release late November.

OMT is in the process of creating an extensive distribution footprint by combining access to Warner Music’s global infrastructure and network of partnerships, with deals with dedicated dance music sites such as Beatport and, where appropriate, third party dance distributors. The label will release through Neon Records in Australia and Big Beat Records in the USA, which is part of the Atlantic Records family, with further affiliations to follow.

Christian Tattersfield said “Anton and Mark are an excellent team, combining talent-spotting and hit-making skills with marketing and commercial expertise. Having them on-board will strengthen the range of our A&R activities and our commitment to finding and breaking the most extraordinary artists in all genres.”

Dan Chalmers added “Adding OMT’s dance credentials to Rhino UK’s ability to deliver must-own compilation products is a powerful proposition, which will continue to open up new revenue possibilities in the biggest-selling compilations category in the UK.”

Anton Partridge said “This is an exciting opportunity, coming at a time when dance music is once again beginning to achieve meaningful mainstream success. I’m delighted to be working with Christian and Dan, and the wider Warner Music team, whose determination to achieve results for their artists has always impressed me.”.
